Picasa gets more social
There is no doubt that the era we live in consists of many social components that help us make up our online identity. This makes the Web 2.0 keep moving, altering and evolving. Over the last few days we have noticed many changes in the area of Web 2.0 and social networking. First there was facebook with its Lite version, then Twitter starting up the Project: Retweet and finally Google trying to get Reader more social.
Well, this time Google tries to get Picasa Web Albums more social. If you watch carefully the next time you browse some album photos you will notice a new bar under the photo’s caption with “I like this” option at the bottom left and the number of “Views” at the bottom right.
Picasa Web Albums have tried a few changes in the last year in order to compete, but no change could boost Picasa that much to overtake its main rival

Google Docs mini ui changes
There seems to be a very slight change in the User Interface of Google Docs this morning. At the left, inside the navigation menu and under the folder “My folders”, the small folder icons have changed. They changed towards a more simple and clean design. So simple and clean that they tend to stand out from the current UI design.
I have to say I really like them. However they look so different compared to the icon at the left of “My Folders”. Thinking ahead to a possible redesign of some other UI elements of Google Docs makes me smile.
I can’t wait to see what’s next. :)

Project Retweet is now officially under construction
One of the Co-founders of Twitter published a post yesterday at Twitter’s official blog stating that Project Retweet is now on phase one.
To be more specific, Project Retweet will enhance one major (if not the most important) feature of Twitter. It will actually make Twitter even more social by enabling more information to flow amongst users’ streams. At the moment all we know is that the API is still under serious construction.
Retweeting has significantly changed part of Twitter’s original philosophy. Since its foundation back in 2006 Twitter has evolved from a personal life stream to a social mainstream monster.
I wonder when the first launch of this feature will be. I bet it wont take more than 3 months. What do you think?
